A Trip within a Trip within a Trip
As we normally do, we spent a few weeks in Ohio this past summer. But not just Ohio. This time, we also went to our cabin in New York. And then while we were at our cabin, since it was so close, we also went to Niagara Falls, Canada, for one night. So, three trips in one over the span of two weeks. During this time, we did so much. More than we’ve ever done on any trip “home.” Every day was a new adventure. We all had a blast, but I think in future years, I should probably dial it back a bit and leave some more days for just playing at home. Continue reading

A New Year, Another Ohio Trip
The kids and I started 2023 out with a nearly week-long trip to Ohio to visit my family. My sister and her family also few in from Colorado and so the whole gang was together, including all seven grandkids/cousins. We mostly hung out together, but we also squeezed in two ice skating adventures, one trip to an awesome library, and neighborhood bike rides/walks. Our week culminated with the celebration of Baby B’s baptism at one of the church’s in which I grew up. Then, we returned to California and our work, school, and activity routine. Continue reading

O-H-I-O (& New York!) Family Trip
In September, prior to my maternity leave ending, I flew to Ohio (alone) with both girls. I know, sounds a little crazy, but honestly, the flights went really well. The worst part of the entire day of travel was the … Continue reading

Springtime in Ohio
Okay…it really wasn’t technically Spring when Vivian and I went to Ohio at the beginning of March. It was actually cold, dreary, and brown, and even snowed one morning (but sadly melted before Vivian could go outside and play in … Continue reading

Vivian’s First Christmas
My Aunt Jane is appalled (as are my in-laws, I’m sure) that we don’t put up a Christmas tree. Or decorate our house for Christmas in any other way. But…we have never spent Christmas in our own house. That will … Continue reading
Going to Grammy & Papa’s

Showered with Love and Snow in Ohio
Ohio has had a very snowy and cold winter. California, on the other hand, has had a very dry and warm winter. And yet, I left warm and sunny SoCal to fly to Ohio when I was 30 weeks pregnant. … Continue reading
