Farewell Mammoth Trip

Last weekend, we drove up to Mammoth Lakes to go on our last vacation in the area – at least, our last vacation there for a long time. After we move to Colorado, we’ll be exploring Colorado resort towns and we likely won’t fly back to Mammoth for awhile. We all love Mammoth so, so much; therefore, this trip was bittersweet. We did all of our favorite things while we were there and even squeezed in a new activity or two. Continue reading

Annual Mammoth Snow Trip: 2023

We recently returned from a snowy 5-day/4-night road trip to Mammoth Lakes, CA. We love Mammoth sooooo much and everyone in our family had a great time on our trip. The area had their second snowiest January on record (2017 was the snowiest) and our early February trip allowed us to take full advantage of all that snow for skiing, snowboarding, sledding, tubing, and playing. Plus, it was absolutely beautiful there – the mountains were covered in deep snow and the views in all directions were spectacular. Continue reading

Big Bear Snow Trip

During the last week of 2022, when things slowed down and work and school halted, we escaped to the local mountains for some snow fun and a little relaxation. We hiked, skied, and went sledding, and when we weren’t active in these pursuits, we were reading by the wood fire in our cabin and drinking mugfuls of hot cocoa. Continue reading

Holiday Road Trip 2021

At the end of 2021, we ventured out on a five-state, 2400 mile road trip across the Western U.S. We visited ghost towns, national parks, luxury resorts, family, historic sites, and Las Vegas, Baby! Continue reading

Frozen II: Chambers Family Edition

For the second year in a row, our family road-tripped up to Mammoth Lakes for a “snow vacation.” We planned this trip in early January with another family and were anticipating a long weekend with lots of snow. In 2019, … Continue reading

Frozen: Chambers Family Edition

In mid-March, we loaded up the truck and took off on our first long family road trip (nearly six hours on the road!) and first family “snow vacation” (that’s what we kept referring to it as with the girls). Mammoth … Continue reading

Snow Angels, Balls, & Sledding

We have gotten pounded with much needed rain this winter and the mountains have received feet upon feet of snow, even our local SoCal ones. We had hoped to take a weekend trip to the mountains, but the reality of … Continue reading

Snow Day in Orange County

Our wonderful new community hosts the best events for its residents. Earlier this week, they brought in snow and dumped it in one of the parks for our California kiddos to experience some winter fun. Vivian had been in the snow … Continue reading

Vivian’s First Christmas

My Aunt Jane is appalled (as are my in-laws, I’m sure) that we don’t put up a Christmas tree. Or decorate our house for Christmas in any other way. But…we have never spent Christmas in our own house. That will … Continue reading
