It’s November now (say what?!) and our family has had a lot of fun participating in Fall-friendly activities, even though the weather has been anything but Fall-like.
We got into the spirit of the season in late September while Dan’s parents were in town visiting us. We took Vivian to the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch to ride their little railroad train, pick out a pumpkin, walk through her first haunted house (!!), frost sugar cookies, work through a straw maze, and ride a wagon pulled by a tractor. It was a rainy, cool day and Fall was flirting with us.
In mid-October we spent one part of our weekend attending our community’s Halloween Event where Vivian picked out another pumpkin, frosted more cookies, watched a strange puppet show, and had a Nemo balloon animal made for her, which she LOVED.
The second half of our weekend was spent at a friend’s Octoberfest where Vivian played on her first see-saw and had a blast in a bouncy house.
Then, at the end of October, Dan took Vivian to Pumpkin City where she once again picked out another pumpkin, rode her first carnival ride (even though she was technically too small), and petted goats and other animals at the petting zoo.
Finally, at the very end of the month, we celebrated Halloween by participating in a neighborhood potluck at the park and taking Vivian trick-or-treating, which turned out to be way more fun than I was anticipating – she was so cute!
In between all this Fall fun, we did spend one cool weekend in Colorado celebrating my little sister’s wedding. The details of that will have to be covered in another post at another time (when I have pictures from the photographer!).
