Point Loma Post

After our plans to visit the Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena were cancelled the other week, we switched directions and instead of heading north to L.A., we drove south to San Diego to spend a Sunday afternoon visiting friends in Point Loma. We had some time before our visit, though, and decided to check out the point at Point Loma, including the Cabrillo National Monument and Old Point Loma Lighthouse.

We visited the Visitor’s Center, historical exhibits, and monument to Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo; took in the amazing city, bay, and ocean views from atop the cliffs; and explored the Old Point Loma Lighthouse and the assistant lighthouse keeper’s quarters. We hope to return one day to hike on the 2-mile trail in the park and explore the tide pools.
