[Not] Hungover in Malibu

A few weeks ago, we attended the absolutely beautiful wedding of our equally beautiful friends, Kristin and Matt, in Malibu. Specifically, at Malibu Rocky Oaks Vineyard. Go ahead and check out the website for the venue. I’ll give you a few minutes to ohh and ahh.

Now, if you saw Hangover 3 at the beginning of last summer, you will recognize our friends’ wedding venue as the villa where part of the film was shot! In the movie, the villa is supposed to be in Mexico, but in reality, it’s in the Malibu hills with views of the ocean and L.A. city lights. The second Dan and I pulled up to the amazing mansion, we recognized it from the movie!

The wedding ceremony took place on the estate’s helipad and the reception occurred in the villa and around the pool.

It all sounds fancy, huh? It was, which is why we couldn’t help but laugh when, after driving 1 1/2 hours to get up to our hotel room north of L.A., we went to dress in our wedding attire and Dan realized that he left his suit pants at home. He brought his dress shoes, shirt, tie, vest, and jacket, but no pants – whoops! He had no other option but to wear the old jeans that he had driven up north in with all of the dress clothes that he did remember. Needless to say, he was the only guest in jeans! Despite that, he still looked very handsome:-)
