After a bit of a delayed and upsetting start to our one year (ONE YEAR!!) anniversary trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, we finally landed right where we wanted to be – poolside with bellies full of Mexican food and our third margarita in our hands. [The delay was due to a mixup with Snoopy’s yearly vaccinations and the facility where we board him. All is well, now, though, and Snoopy is well-protected from distemper and rabies for the next year plus.] Although we’ve been to other resort towns in Mexico with friends before (Cancún and Puerto Vallerta), we’d never been to Cabo.
As it turns out, there isn’t a ton of things to do in Cabo (besides drinking, eating, and relaxing), so our vacation was super low-key. We spent most of our time at our resort – the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar – which provided plenty of pool, dining, and spa options. We ate the most fabulous meal of our trip at Pitahayas, but we still made time for an obligatory trip to a party-friendly restaurant (Mango Deck) on the Playa El Medano. One evening we treated ourselves to an 80 minute couples massage (a cactus massage for him and a chocolate massage for me) and then, after learning that spa services were 40% off, we treated ourselves again the next day to an 80 minute couples hot stone massage. We did make time for some touristy stuff – we drove around Cabo San Lucas and we took a boat tour of Land’s End and then explored Lover’s Beach and Divorce Beach.
Here are some pictures from our trip:
We are now looking forward to year #2 of our marriage!
